About the University

The Silesian University of Technology was established in 1945. It is now one of the biggest technical universities in Poland which takes top positions in prestigious rankings of schools of higher education.

We currently run almost 60 studies with about 200 specialities in 15 organizational units (13 faculties, a college and a scientific-teaching centre). The studies cover the entire range of engineering activity, administration, mathematics, sociology and management, as well as philology and pedagogics. A great asset of the Silesian University of Technology is that it offers a wide selection of studies in English, which is of special importance considering the challenges of the modern labour market.

Our faculties and the scientific-teaching centre are located in Gliwice, Katowice and Zabrze, which means that the scientific and educational impact of the University spreads over a considerable part of the Silesian Voivodeship.
